I’ve been tagged again. This time it’s by Abigail S.
The rules are:
1. Go into your archive.
2. Find your 23rd post.
3. Find the fifth sentence (or closest to).
4. Post the text of the sentence in your blog along with these instructions.
5. Tag 5 other people to do the same.
So the 5th line of the 23rd post of mine is:
So, in short, I hate policemen.
And now, I tag:
- Lucio
- Ritesh
- Vinaya
- Atif
- Bhaskar S
Incidentally, this is my 75th post.
From the episode Homer to the Max
Homer: […] Kids, there’s three ways to do things. The right way, the wrong way, and the Max Power way!
Bart: Isn’t that the wrong way?
Homer: Yeah, but faster!
[Turns and walks face-first into a giant cactus]
Here are few of the blogworthy things that happened in the last couple of days:
- I am used to being blinded by high beams at night but yesterday evening I got blinded by some bluish white light of a car. It was so bright and blinding that I couldn’t even see which car it was. Are such lights legal? Do the traffic policemen not see these lights? Or do they turn a blind eye towards it?
- Saw Ricky Martin’s new video featuring Amerie called, “I don’t care”. It’s awful. Really, really awful. The worst song I’ve heard in a long time and I have heard “We be burning” so that’s saying a lot.
- On the other hand, “I’m Feeling You” by Santana and Michelle Branch is not bad. It sounds like a continuation of “The Game Of Love”, which I liked too. Actually, I like Michelle so I like everything she does. Whether or not “I’m Feeling You” becomes as successful as “The Game Of Love” remains to be seen.
- I have become a contributor/member of Naachgaana.com, a group blog about everything bollywood. I haven’t written anything there yet but I’ll do that real soon. I’ve been reading it since yesterday to grasp the tone of the blog. You should visit it too.
No, really, why? Why should you do everything yourself? I just don’t think that’s right.
I even hate all those DIY shows/books/whatever where they make doing everything seem so easy while it may be very difficult to do that in reality. And even if it is very simple and easy to do, my question is why?
I completely believe in Homer Simpson’s “Can’t someone else do it?”
Why should you learn plumbing when there are so many plumbers out there who can do a much better job?
Plus, getting other people to do things for you maintains the universal balance. I mean, somebody pays you to do your job so it’s only fair that you pay other people to do their jobs. Instead, some people learn to do too many things and deprive so many people of their livelihood. That’s just sad. Fortunately, I’m not one of them. I pay someone to clean my room, wash my clothes, iron my clothes, prepare dinner for me and countless other things. And in case there is a leak in the pipes, I call a plumber and if there is some electrical problem, I call an electrician.
These people who like to fix things themselves sometimes end up causing a bigger problem and then end up paying more than they would have initially had to.
And yes, I am aware of the fact that there are appliances out there, which can make your job easier, but some of them still make you work hard. For instance, washing machines r good. I love them and have been a loyal user of one for the past 10 yrs and I’ll be buying one very soon here in Bangalore too but an iron is a big no-no.
Plus using old junk to make new stuff, assembling furniture all by you, painting the house (god!) All that is just crazy.
So I just want to say once and for all, down with DIY.
