Earth is Fun
// September 27th, 2005 // Bangalore, Internet
It started with one of my colleagues asking for help in figuring out why his Google Earth wasn’t working properly and then suddenly I got sucked into it. Soon we together located and marked The Forum, our office, my home, my friend’s home, ISCKON temple, Fun World and my sister’s house. Then more of my colleagues joined in and soon we were trying to locate each and everyone’s house. We were successful in most cases but we were unable to locate one particular colleague’s house in Jayanagar 8th block because my knowledge of that area is limited and she was unable to provide any landmarks.
Google Earth is fun for me more than it is for others because I am fascinated with maps. I have five different types of maps of Bangalore and am yet to buy the comprehensive Eicher map that one of my friends has.

You are right. Google Earth is awesome fun and great time pass. If you are interested in exploring outer space then there is a software called Celestia. It requires powerful hardware though.
@vinaya: I’ve heard about Celestia but never tried it. I might be interested in it once red colony is formed on Mars
i’ve never heard of this thing.
i’ll have to look into it.
@becky l: You should try it. Its fantastic. The US has been extensively mapped with all kinds of markers.
