Don’t Lie

The Black Eyed Peas have released the video for their second single from Monkey Business. The song’s called “Don’t Lie”. The sepia toned video complimnets the song well. The song relies heavily on Fergie’s singing ability and she does not fail them. The song is a little mellow but still has the peppiness that has now become the band’s trademark.

Artist : Black Eyed Peas
Album : Monkey Business
Genre : Hip-Hop
My Score : 6.5/10

Sarakti Jaaye Hai (Aahista Aahista)

Asha Bhosle has come out with a new album of ghazals, called Asha. The album comprises of 8 tracks including “Aaj Jaane Ki Zid Na Karo” (Farida Khanum), “Awaargi” (Ghulam Ali) & “Chupke Chupke” (Ghulam Ali) but my favorite track from the album is the song “Sarakti Jaaye Hai” originally sang by Jagjit & Chitra Singh. Asha Bhosle is at her usual best in the song and the music arrangement is particularly good.

Artist : Asha Bhosle
Album : Asha
Genre : Easy Listening
My Score : 8/10

Mele Chaliyan [Remix]

There seems to be a new trend in Hindi Film Music of releasing the remixes of few tracks in the original album. Its a good way of trying to get more listeners and it also stops other people from screwing up your song by remixing it in the most ruthless manner. Recently released albums Dus and Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya included remixes of few songs and now the album of…Yahaan also includes remixes of two songs. The song “Mele Chaliyan” is a traditional punjabi wedding song but with a kashmiri flavor but the remix makes it sound like a completely different song with great beats and some good rapping. Good effort!

Artist : Shreya Ghosal(singer), Shantanu Moitra(music)
Album : …Yahaan
Genre : Hindi Soundtrack
My Score : 7/10

Cool

The fourth single from Gwen’s latest album, L.A.M.B. is very different from the enrgetic dance dongs that the first three songs were. But it still boasts of that truly gwen style of singing and the result is a good rock song. It may not be an “Underneath It All” but its still good. The video is cool too.

Artist : Gwen Stefani
Album : Love.Angel.Music.Baby
Genre : Rock
My Score : 7.5/10
